Green Giant Recycling collaborates with various off-takers for waste or recycled plasterboard, offering diverse disposal options for this material. The presence of gypsum, or calcium sulphate, in plasterboard makes it valuable for recycling. Gypsum contains approximately 22% to 24% calcium and about 16% sulphur.
While commonly known as a key component in wallboard for construction, gypsum has a history of use as a fertiliser in Europe in the latter part of the 1800s.
Beyond construction, gypsum has applications in various industries and even in food. Additionally, it has the potential for health-related uses. Green Giant Recycling also provides services for the removal of household cable waste.
